Jingle

The Mischievous Christmas Elf

Bring Jingle Home

Jingle arrived in December and immediately began improving things. The improvements primarily involved bells. And some glitter. And a level of enthusiasm that has not slowed down since.

He is the Christmas elf who believes the season should be heard as much as seen. Everything gets a little more jingle when he is around, sometimes literally.

He is impossible to ignore and impossible not to love.

Who Is Jingle?

🔔

Bell Collector

Jingle has added bells to things that did not have bells. Your shoes may now jingle. This was not a request. This was a gift.

🎵

Constant Hummer

Jingle hums holiday music at all times, reportedly even in his sleep. The hum changes pitch depending on how excited he is. It has been loud this week.

Glitter Enthusiast

Jingle believes glitter is an appropriate response to almost any situation. There is currently glitter in places that are difficult to explain.

🏃

Perpetual Motion

Jingle does not sit still. He has never been found in the same position twice. His energy is a renewable resource. No one knows where it comes from.

Jingle and the Sound of Christmas

For Jingle, Christmas is the loudest, sparkliest, most wonderful time of the year, and he intends to treat it that way for all twelve nights.

He is not subtle about the holidays. He believes they deserve noise and light and glitter and bells. As many bells as possible. Ideally on everything.

When your kids wake up each morning and find Jingle somewhere new, almost certainly sparkling and almost certainly responsible for a new sound, that is the season doing exactly what it should.

What To Do With Jingle

Jingle arrives on December first. Set him up somewhere visible on the night of November thirtieth. He will make his presence known.

Each night, move him somewhere new and give him something to work with. Jingle has twelve nights and a lot of energy, and he will use both.

A few things to know:

  • Jingle is fully poseable and can be set up in all kinds of positions.
  • He is weighted at the base, so he can stand on his own.
  • Kids can pick him up and carry him around. He is built for it.
  • Use the mischief ideas below when you need a starting point. Jingle may go off-script. This is normal.

Twelve Nights of Mischief

One idea for each night. Use them, skip them, or let Jingle make noise.

Night 1

Bells Everywhere

Attached tiny bells to the front door, two cabinet handles, and a throw pillow. The house now jingles when anything moves. Jingle considers this an upgrade.

Night 2

The Glitter Incident

Left a trail of gold glitter from the front door to the Christmas tree. He has called it a "welcome path." It is sparkly. It is everywhere.

Night 3

Shoe Situation

Added a small bell to the inside of one shoe per person in the family. Each shoe jingles slightly differently. He finds this delightful.

Night 4

Humming Report

Left a slip of paper rating five holiday songs based on how well they work as a hum. "Jingle Bells" received a perfect score. He is not surprised.

Night 5

Ornament Bells

Replaced four ornaments on the Christmas tree with ones he made himself. They are not exactly round. They do all jingle.

Night 6

The Glitter Letter

Left a Christmas card on the kitchen table covered in glitter. Opening it released more glitter. The card said "You're welcome."

Night 7

Bell Inventory

Left a handwritten list of every bell in the house. The list was longer than expected. He signed it with a small drawing of a bell.

Night 8

Gift Bells

Tied a tiny bell to every wrapped present under the tree. Shaking any gift now makes sound. He considers this a preview service.

Night 9

Glitter Star

Added gold glitter to the star on top of the tree. It now catches the light differently. Jingle has described this as "the final touch."

Night 10

The Jingle Dance

Was found in the living room in a pose that strongly suggested dancing. A playlist was open on the counter. "Jingle Bells" was at the top.

Night 11

Bell Collection Tour

Left a small map of the house with every bell location marked. It was detailed. It was also unnecessary. Jingle seems proud of it.

Night 12

Christmas Eve Bells

Left a single small bell next to the cookies and milk with a note: "Ring this when he lands. He'll know it's me." The handwriting is very excited.

Jingle is already making noise.

Twelve nights of bells, glitter, and chaos. Bring him home before they're gone.
