Jolly claims to have Santa's personal number. No one has verified this. Jolly does not appreciate the skepticism.
Official Christmas DJ
He has strong opinions about holiday music. The wrong song at the wrong time is a personal offense. He has a playlist and a schedule.
Competitive Decorator
Jolly has ranked every house on the block by their Christmas lights. He updates the ranking nightly. Your house is currently in second. He thinks you can do better.
Candy Cane Enthusiast
Jolly has relocated every candy cane to what he calls "optimal festivity placement." Three are missing entirely. He considers this a success.
Jolly and the Spirit of Christmas
For Jolly, Christmas is not just a holiday. It is a twelve-night operation that requires planning, enthusiasm, and someone willing to take charge. He has volunteered for that role. He has held it since day one.
He genuinely loves every part of Christmas. The lights, the music, the wrapping paper, the anticipation, all of it gets the same level of attention from him, which is to say complete and total commitment.
When your kids wake up each morning and find Jolly in the middle of something new, that is not an accident. That is Jolly doing exactly what he came to do.
What To Do With Jolly
Jolly arrives on December first. Place him somewhere prominent on the night of November thirtieth. He prefers to be seen. He will be ready before your kids wake up.
Each night, move him somewhere new. Set up a scene. Give him a task. Jolly works best when he has something to do, and twelve nights gives him plenty of material.
A few things to know:
- Jolly is fully poseable and can be set up in almost any position.
- He is weighted at the base, so he stands upright on his own.
- Kids can handle him and carry him around. No rules about touching.
- Use the mischief ideas below when you need a starting point. Jolly would probably tell you they are just suggestions and he will be improvising anyway.
